Led by Principal Cathy Tan
I am Cathy Tan, an early childhood educator with over 15 years of experience dedicated to nurturing young minds and shaping their futures.
As a centre leader, I am passionate about guiding and inspiring my team to continually enhance their skills and pursue professional development. Together, we create a nurturing and stimulating environment where learning is a joyful and meaningful experience for every child.
I firmly believe in the importance of building strong relationships with parents and the community, as these connections are vital for fostering children’s holistic development.
In my role as Centre Principal, I actively collaborate with the community to instil values such as compassion, empathy, and social responsibility in our children. For instance, my centre organises an annual Kindness Week in partnership with the Bishan Community Club, where we collect food for the less fortunate in Bishan–Toa Payoh GRC. We also engage in intergenerational activities, such as crafting and performing for seniors at Bishan Lions Nursing Home, creating meaningful connections across generations.
Additionally, we organise purposeful projects and events like Entrepreneur Day and Children’s Day Carnival to develop children’s financial literacy while raising funds for the Children’s Cancer Foundation.
My centre’s commitment to excellence has been recognised through SPARK accreditation in 2014, 2017, and 2020—a testament to my team’s dedication to upholding the highest standards of preschool education.
“Early experiences play a transformative role in shaping a child’s cognitive development, social skills, and resilience.”
