PCF Sparkletots Officially Unveils Their Second Large Childcare Centre: PCF Sparkletots @ Cashew
Singapore, 12 August 2017 – PCF Sparkletots @ Cashew was officially unveiled today by Guest-of-Honour, Dr Vivian Balakrishnan, Member of Parliament for Holland-Bukit Timah GRC (Cashew) and Minister for Foreign Affairs. Like all other PCF Sparkletots, PCF Sparkletots @ Cashew’s learning approach is anchored on the Sparkletots Curriculum, which consists of six learning areas: language and literacy, aesthetic and creative expression, discovery of the world, motor skills development, numeracy, and social and emotional development. This curriculum is aligned with the Ministry of Education’s Nurturing Early Learners framework.
Spread over 21,500 sq ft, PCF Sparkletots @ Cashew is located at Hillion Mall (17 Petir Road). It is PCF Sparkletots’ first childcare centre in an integrated development. As PCF Sparkletots’ second large childcare centre, it will offer high-quality and accessible full day childcare and infant care services for up to 287 children, ranging from the age of 2 months to 6 years old. PCF Sparkletots @ Cashew will deliver the Sparkletots Curriculum with additional emphasis on STEAM – Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math. (More information on the Sparkletots Curriculum can be found in the factsheet provided.)
PAP Community Foundation’s Chief Executive Officer, Mr Victor Bay, shared, “As the largest preschool operator and employer in Singapore today, we are responsible for children from a diverse range of backgrounds. Since 2012, our Sparkletots Curriculum is offered across all our PCF Sparkletots preschools and is developed and regularly reviewed by a team of more than 50 early childhood practitioners and curriculum professionals. We aim to prepare our children to be confident and effective communicators who are sociable, responsible, thinking, healthy and wholesome. We are excited about the opening of PCF Sparkletots @ Cashew, which is our first centre in an integrated development and our second large childcare centre. We have some exciting plans ahead as we are due to open our largest childcare centre in
Punggol by mid-2018. We look forward to welcoming more children, parents and early childhood educators to the PCF Sparkletots family.”
During a tour of the centre, GOH Dr Vivian Balakrishnan and guests witnessed how various class activities were carried out through the STEAM approach.
