Over 10,000 celebrate PCF Family Day 2017
Singapore, 27 August 2017 – PAP Community Foundation celebrated Family Day 2017, PCF’s largest annual event, with about 10,000 staff and family from PCF, PCF Sparkletots and PCF Sparkle Care at the National Gallery Singapore.
Themed “Our Stories, Our Dreams”, the event also saw participation by children and families from over 360 PCF Sparkletots preschools island-wide.
Guest-of-Honour, Prime Minister and Secretary General of the People’s Action Party, Mr Lee Hsien Loong was joined by Co-ordinating Minister for National Security and Deputy Prime Minister Mr Teo Chee Hean; Senior Minister of State for Health, PCF Family Day 2017 Organising Committee Chairperson and Chairperson of PAP Social and Recreation Committee, Dr Amy Khor; Minister for National Development and Second Minister for Finance, and PCF Council Chairman, Mr Lawrence Wong; Minister in the Prime Minister’s Office and Second Minister for Manpower and Foreign Affairs, and PCF Executive Committee Chairperson, Mrs Josephine Teo, other Ministers and Members of Parliament. They interacted with the families present and went on a guided tour of the Gallery.
PCF Chief Executive Officer, Mr Victor Bay said, “PCF Family Day is a great opportunity to gather families and friends to come together as a community. We are committed to make a difference in the lives of those around us, whether through welfare programmes or financial support. Through this, we hope to build a strong community spirit which can encourage our children to grow into compassionate and responsible adults. We are also proud of our PCF Sparkletots children, whose artwork on their hopes and dreams for Singapore are showcased here today. At PCF, we believe that no one is too young to contribute towards building an inclusive society.”
PCF is a charitable organisation which runs social, educational and welfare programmes and activities for the community. Through its fundraising efforts and support of charities and organizations over the years, PCF has touched the lives of countless beneficiaries and families. This year more than $500,000 was raised by PAP Members of Parliament and the amount raised will benefit eight different charities and PCF. (Kindly refer to Annex A for more information).
